For over 20 years, my life has revolved around health. As a former NHS healthcare professional, I've seen firsthand how relentless stress and burnout quietly take hold, and how deeply they affect every aspect of life, from the way we look to the way we feel and function.
I know this not just from my clinical experience, but from my own journey too.
My Story
I grew up watching my grandmother tend her garden every morning, hands in the soil, sun on her face, moving with a quiet vitality that never seemed to fade. She lived to 100. She didn't follow any wellness trends or complicated protocols. She didn't need to.
I thought that kind of longevity was just good genetics.
But life had other lessons to teach me.
I've watched people I love face serious illness, people who ate organic and locally sourced, who lived traditionally. And I've experienced loss. Those experiences changed me.
It forced me to ask the hard questions: Why do people who live mostly clean still struggle? What are we missing?
Despite my background in health, despite knowing what mattered, I found myself stressed, depleted, searching for answers. I experimented with different approaches, vegan, pescatarian. I read everything I could get my hands on, books like How Not to Die by Michael Greger became my late-night companion. I was desperate to understand the missing piece.
And I think I found it.
It wasn't about the perfect meal plan or mastering every wellness trend. It was about looking at the whole person, not just what you eat, but how you're moving through life. Your body's gentle whispers asking for rest, for balance, for permission to heal.
I understood that healthy ageing isn't about perfection or deprivation. It's about addressing what most health programs overlook: the interconnection of everything. How chronic stress accelerates ageing, how your gut health affects your brain. How your sleep impacts your hormones. How your nervous system holds the key to vitality. It's all connected, and when we treat the person as a whole, real transformation happens.
